And Moshe sent |

לִקְרֹא לְדָתָן וְלַאֲבִירָם |
To call to Doson and Aviram |

| 3 |
בְּנֵי אֱלִיאָב |
The sons of Eliav |
|
|
|
|
| 4 |
וַיּֽאמְרוּ |
And they said |
|
|
|
|
| 5 |
לֹא נַעֲלֶה |
We will not go up |
|
|
|
|
| 6 |
הַמְעַט |
Is it so little |
|
|
|
|
| 7 |
כִּי הֶעֱלִיתָנוּ |
That you took us up |
|
|
|
|
| 8 |
מֵאֶרֶץ |
From a land |
|
|
|
|
| 9 |
זָבַת |
Flowing |
|
|
|
|
| 10 |
חָלָב |
Milk |
|
|
|
|
| 11 |
וּדְבַשׁ |
And honey |
|
|
|
|
| 12 |
לַהֲמִיתֵנוּ |
To have us die |
|
|
|
|
| 13 |
בַּמִּדְבָּר |
In the desert |
|
|
|
|
| 14 |
כִּי־תִשְׂתָּרֵר עָלֵינוּ |
That you rule over us |
|
|
|
|
| 15 |
גַּם־הִשְׂתָּרֵר |
Will you still rule over us |
|
|
|
|
| 16 |

Also |
|
|
|
|
| 17 |
לֹא אֶל־אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבַשׁ |
Not to a land flowing with milk and honey |
|
|
|
|
| 18 |
הֲבִיאֹתָנוּ |
Did you bring us |
|
|
|
|
| 19 |
וַתִּתֶּן־לָנוּ |
And gave us |
|
|
|
|
| 20 |
נַחֲלַת |
An inheritance |
|
|
|
|
| 21 |
שָׂדֶה |
A field |
|
|
|
|
| 22 |
וָכָרֶם |
And a vineyard |
|
|
|
|
| 23 |
הַעֵינֵי |
The eyes |
|
|
|
|
| 24 |
הָאֲנָשִׁים הָהֵם |
Of those men |
|
|
|
|
| 25 |
תְּנַקֵּר |
Will you knock out |
|
|
|
|
| 26 |
לֹא נַעֲלֶה |
We will not go up. |
|
|
|
|
| 27 |
מִכַּאן |
From here we learn |
|
|
|
|
| 28 |
שֶׁאֵין מַחֲזִיקִין בְּמַחֲלֹקֶת |
One shouldn’t encourage an argument |
|
|
|
|
| 29 |
שֶׁהָיָה מֹשֶׁה מְחַזֵּר אַחֲרֵיהֶם |
For Moshe went after them |
|
|
|
|
| 30 |
לְהַשְׁלִימָם |
To make peace with them |
|
|
|
|
| 31 |
בְּדִבְרֵי שָׁלוֹם |
With words of peace |
|
|
|
|
| 32 |
פִּיהֶם הִכְשִׁילָם |
Their mouths made them stumble |
|
|
|
|
| 33 |
שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם אֶלָּא יְרִידָה |
For they will only have a going down |
|
|
|
|
| 34 |
כְּאָדָם |
Like a person |
|
|
|
|
| 35 |
הַתּוֹלֶה קִלְלָתוֹ |
Who places the curse for him |
|
|
|
|
| 36 |
בַּחֲבֵרוֹ |
on his friend |

|
|
|
