בכל מה שהם נותנין לב לענות |
as much the Eygptians had in their heart to torture |

כן לב הקב"ה להרבות ולהפריץ |
was the heart of Hashem to make them many and multiply |

אתם אומרים פן ירבה |
You (Eygptians) said maybe they will be many |

ואני אומר כן ירבה |
and I (Hashem) say Yes! they will be many |

עַנֹּתוֹ |
torture |

|
| 10 |
בְּסִבְלֹתָם |
in their hard work |

|
|
| 11 |
עָרֵי מִסְכְּנוֹת |
city of treasure houses |

|
|
| 12 |
וַיָּקֻצוּ |
and they were disgusted |
|
|
|
|
| 13 |
בְּפָרֶךְ |
back breaking labor |
|
|
|
|
| 14 |
בעבודה קשה המפרכת את הגוף ומשברתו |
Hard work that breaks the body |
|
|
|
|
| 15 |
על שם שמשפרת את הולד |
because she makes beautiful the newborns |
|
|
|
|
| 16 |
וַיְמָרֲרוּ |
and they made bitter |
|
|
|
|
| 17 |
בְּחֹמֶר |
with clay |
|
|
|
|
| 18 |
וּבִלְבֵנִים |
and bricks |
|
|
|
|
| 19 |
לַמְיַלְּדֹת |
to the midwives |
|
|
|
|
| 20 |
שפועה |
she calms |
|
|

|
